OpenAI Agents SDK

OpenAI Agents SDK is a Python framework for building multi-agent workflows. It is provider-agnostic, working with the OpenAI Responses and Chat Completions APIs as well as more than 100 other LLM providers.

Agents are LLMs configured with instructions, tools, guardrails and handoffs to other agents. The framework also supports sandboxed agents that work inside a container over long tasks, realtime and voice agents that combine speech-to-text, an agent workflow and text-to-speech, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, automatic session history across runs, and built-in tracing for viewing, debugging and optimizing agent runs.

It requires Python 3.10 or newer and installs with pip or uv, with optional extras for voice support and Redis-backed sessions.
