opensrc

A CLI that fetches and caches a package's real source code from npm, PyPI, or crates.io, giving coding agents direct access to the code they depend on.

opensrc

opensrc gives AI coding agents access to the actual source code of any package they depend on, rather than only its published interface. A single command fetches a package's source from npm, PyPI, crates.io, or a GitHub repository and caches it locally, after which repeated lookups return instantly from the cache.

Because it prints a plain filesystem path, it composes with ordinary command-line tools: a search tool can look inside the returned directory, or a file can be read directly by path, working the same way regardless of which package registry the source came from.

The project is a Turborepo monorepo with a Rust command-line client and a Next.js documentation site, and it is released under the Apache License 2.0.
