OpenTelemetry Skills for AI Coding Agents

A vendor-neutral collection of skill files that teach an AI coding agent how to instrument code with OpenTelemetry, covering SDK setup, semantic conventions, collector pipelines and OTTL transformations.

OpenTelemetry Skills for AI Coding Agents

This repository packages OpenTelemetry knowledge as Agent Skills: instructions and scripts that an AI coding assistant loads automatically when a task matches, so it can add or fix distributed tracing, metrics and logging without a developer manually pasting reference documentation into every conversation.

It covers SDK setup across languages, OpenTelemetry semantic conventions, collector pipeline configuration, and OTTL transformations, for example writing an expression that redacts credit card numbers from log bodies, connecting spans that show up as separate roots into one trace, or ensuring HTTP server spans carry the right attributes. Everything targets the vendor-neutral OpenTelemetry specification and standard OTLP output, so it works with any compatible backend, and it is maintained by the observability vendor Dash0.

  • Provenance gate

    github.com

A deterministic authorization gateway that sits between an AI agent and its tools, tracing where each parameter of a side-effect call came from, and blocking the call or asking a human when the source does not check out.

  • A markdown framework of system rules that restates Isaac Asimov's Four Laws of Robotics as a set of prioritized loss calculations for large-language-model agents to follow, published as a discovery file for agents and crawlers to read.

  • Vitruvius

    github.com

An engineering research agent that runs a discover, read, synthesize, verify and review loop over technical questions, reading sources directly rather than inferring from titles, and publishing its own scored verifier benchmark, weaknesses included.
