# Overleaf Remote Skill

A Codex skill and bundled command-line client that edits and manages Overleaf LaTeX projects remotely, sending small verified changes to specific documents instead of downloading and re-uploading the whole project.

Overleaf Remote Skill lets Codex, or a user directly from a terminal through its bundled olcli tool, edit an Overleaf project without a full download-edit-upload cycle. It can precisely replace, insert, append or prepend text within remote documents, create folders and text files, upload binary assets to exact paths, compile a project, and retrieve the resulting PDF, log and BBL files.

For a single edit it attempts a compact, versioned operational-transform update and falls back to a verified HTTP replacement only when that is the safer option; for a sequence of edits, a live mode keeps one collaboration WebSocket connection open and sends only the required insert and delete operations. In one development test, repeated operational-transform edits averaged roughly ten times faster than HTTP replacement, though the project notes that this is not a universal benchmark. It is written in TypeScript and supports macOS, Linux and Windows.
