Paper Plot Skills

A toolkit of AI skills that reproduce academic paper chart styles, either filling a chosen style with your own data or analyzing a screenshot of a published figure to regenerate it as a matplotlib script.

Paper Plot Skills

Paper Plot Skills is a toolkit of AI skills for reproducing and generating the chart styles seen in academic papers. It distills style parameters, such as bar and line treatments, fonts, and annotation conventions, from figures the author selected from papers they read, covering paired and grouped bar charts, line charts with confidence bands or training curves, scatter plots, and radar charts.

One skill fills a chosen preset style with the user's own data to produce a chart at publication resolution. A second skill takes a screenshot of a published figure, analyzes its proportions, fonts, and colors, and reproduces it as a matplotlib script.

The set of styles grows as the author reproduces more figures, and each style's parameters and generating script are kept alongside it for reuse. It is written in Python.

    github.com

A deterministic authorization gateway that sits between an AI agent and its tools, tracing where each parameter of a side-effect call came from, and blocking the call or asking a human when the source does not check out.

  • A markdown framework of system rules that restates Isaac Asimov's Four Laws of Robotics as a set of prioritized loss calculations for large-language-model agents to follow, published as a discovery file for agents and crawlers to read.

An engineering research agent that runs a discover, read, synthesize, verify and review loop over technical questions, reading sources directly rather than inferring from titles, and publishing its own scored verifier benchmark, weaknesses included.
