Phase

An open-core secrets management platform for teams and AI coding agents, encrypting environment variables and other secrets end to end.

Phase

Phase manages secrets, such as environment variables, for both human teams and AI agents, encrypting them end to end. It follows an open-core model similar to GitLab's: the main repository is released under the MIT license, while a separate directory of Pro and Enterprise features requires a Phase license to use.

Among the clients it names for AI-agent use are Claude Code, Codex CLI and OpenCode, alongside general team usage. Security vulnerabilities are meant to be reported privately rather than through public GitHub issues or the public community forum, since those are visible to everyone.

It is written in TypeScript with a Django-based backend and distributed with Docker.
