# Phoenix

A plugin for the Hermes Agent framework, installed through Hermes's own plugin hooks without changing its core code, adding model-tier routing by task difficulty, a circuit breaker for repeated failures, and a self-healing error-pattern library.

Phoenix adds several safety and cost-control layers on top of the Hermes Agent framework through Hermes's official plugin system, so it can be installed or removed without changing Hermes itself. A weighted scoring router automatically classifies each request into one of four tiers by difficulty and can, if configured, switch to a different model per tier so that a simple request is not sent to an expensive model. A three-state circuit breaker trips after repeated failures and cools down before automatically retrying, an error-pattern library remembers past failures so the same mistake is not repeated, and a fallback chain switches to a local model, when available on macOS, or a cheaper cloud model if the primary model becomes unavailable.

During a long, goal-mode task, Phoenix enforces a checklist and requires a model change for cross-checking before high-risk operations; high-risk replies can also be checked for fabricated content through a free pre-check and, for its highest confidence tiers, a paid cross-verification. It separately remembers information from conversations, independent of Hermes's native memory, retrieved only when relevant rather than injected every time.

It is installed as a plugin and its status is checked with a single command; the interface is documented in Chinese.
