Pioneer — Personal AI Assistant

A local-first, Rust-built personal AI assistant workspace with a native desktop app and a self-hosted gateway that owns state, model access, memory, tasks, MCP servers, and skills, runnable on your own machine or infrastructure.

Pioneer — Personal AI Assistant

Pioneer is a local-first AI workspace built in Rust for running a personal assistant on hardware the user controls, either their own computer or a remote server. Its gateway is the core of the system, owning state, configuration, storage, model access, task and tool execution, the MCP runtime, skills, and thread history, communicating over a JSON-RPC protocol; a native cross-platform desktop app is the primary client and can connect to one or more gateways at once, whether local or remote.

Each workspace inside a gateway keeps its own threads, provider keys, MCP servers, skills, tasks, and artifacts, and the gateway can fan work out automatically to subagents with their own prompts, roles, models, context and tool policies, and result contracts, with the parent agent reviewing, accepting, or asking for revisions to each subagent's result. Durable agent memory lets agent mode recall and write stable facts and preferences across sessions.

The project explicitly warns that it is at an extremely early stage, with tool execution not yet sandboxed (tools run as the OS user running the gateway), and recommends testing it in a safe environment before trusting it with important work.

    recurse.run

A serverless harness that lets a coding agent design, test, and deploy its own specialist sub-agents as tools, MCP servers, or bots, defined by a schema-validated manifest.

  • ProofForge

    shulgin.is-a.dev

An AI-agent pipeline that decomposes a mathematics problem, proves each piece, and formalizes the result in Lean 4 and Mathlib until the Lean kernel accepts it, with six of its proofs already merged into Google DeepMind's formal-conjectures repository.

  • local-coder

    github.com

Builds a local coding-agent team on top of Ollama and OpenCode by detecting the machine's hardware, recommending models for seven specialist roles, and testing whether each assigned model can actually use tools, edit a repository and pass verification.
