PlatformIO Core

An open-source, cross-platform build system, package manager and unified debugger for embedded software development, supporting Arduino, ESP32, AVR, ARM and RISC-V targets.

PlatformIO Core

PlatformIO Core is a command-line tool for embedded software development, providing a multi-platform, multi-architecture build system alongside a static code analyzer, remote unit testing, a firmware file explorer and memory inspection.

It manages libraries and development platforms through its own registry, integrates with desktop IDEs and continuous integration systems, and supports debugging and static analysis as part of its workflow. It targets microcontroller platforms including Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, AVR, ARM, RISC-V boards running Zephyr RTOS, and others using CMSIS.

It is released under the Apache 2.0 license.
