Prompt OS
A desktop AI agent for Windows that executes terminal commands, manages files, writes and runs code, browses the web and reads the screen, acting on natural-language requests rather than only answering them.
Prompt OS runs iteratively, thinking, calling a tool, reading the result and refining, until a requested task is actually finished, rather than only describing what to do. It can run shell and PowerShell commands, read and write files, search directory trees with glob patterns, and search file contents with grep-style matching.
An autonomous browser-control feature navigates the web, fills forms and extracts information, while a screenshot-interpretation feature describes the current screen, windows and layout using a multimodal model. A system clipboard manager moves data between applications, and the agent reads PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV and HTML files directly.
It supports multiple LLM providers, selectable from the GUI, with fast, thinking and advanced-task modes, persistent memory stored in a local text file, and a Windows executable build.
