Public APIs

A community-curated list of free and public APIs covering many domains, meant for developers to find services they can call from their own projects.

Public APIs is a manually curated collection of free and publicly available APIs, maintained by community contributors together with staff from APILayer. Entries span many domains and are organized so a developer can browse for a service to integrate into their own product, such as data lookups, geocoding, or messaging.

The repository also lists Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, which let AI agents call APIs as tools inside a client such as Claude, Cursor, or VS Code; these entries record the transport and installation method rather than raw HTTP details.

It is written in Python and released under the MIT license.
