# QQL - SQL for Qdrant and vector search

A SQL-style query language and toolchain for the Qdrant vector database, covering dense, sparse and hybrid search, filtering and multitenancy, with the same grammar running from a CLI, Python, Node.js, Rust, WebAssembly and an in-process edge engine.

QQL, the Qdrant Query Language, is a SQL-style language and toolchain for the Qdrant vector database that covers vector search, hybrid search, semantic search, filtering, multitenancy and data-definition statements. One grammar and one typed query plan run identically from a command-line tool, Python, Node.js, Rust and WebAssembly clients, over REST or gRPC, against a real Qdrant server or, through edge software development kits, against an in-process store with no server at all.

Alongside Qdrant's own official Python client, which remains the reference for building requests by hand, QQL adds a text-based language layer over the same operations, supporting dense, sparse and hybrid retrieval with reciprocal-rank or distribution-based fusion, reranking, faceting, grouped search, scrolling and counting, batching several queries or mutations into one request, and generating embeddings as part of the query pipeline.
