RepoVote Engine
A worker service that runs polls as CSV files in a GitHub repository, using commits as ballots and GitHub OAuth to validate who is allowed to vote.
RepoVote Engine is a worker runtime that turns a GitHub repository into a polling system: a poll is a CSV file in the repo, a vote is a commit to a designated branch, and the worker validates voter eligibility against GitHub's OAuth scopes before merging approved results into a canonical results branch. It is designed to run as a serverless function, a GitHub Action, or a self-hosted Node.js service.
The stated goal is to avoid a separate authentication system, an external database, and session cookies for a poll, since Git's own commit history, signed commits, and branch protection rules serve as the audit trail and identity source instead.
It requires a GitHub repository with a GitHub OAuth app's client ID and secret, and a Node.js 18 or newer runtime for the worker.
