# serve-sim

serve-sim hosts a booted Apple Simulator as a browser-viewable video stream with remote control, so agent tools such as Codex, Cursor or Claude Desktop can see and interact with an iOS app over a LAN or a tunnel.

serve-sim hosts a booted Apple Simulator for use by agent tools such as Codex, Cursor and Claude Desktop, locally, over a LAN, or tunneled from a remote Mac. It spawns a Swift helper that captures the simulator's framebuffer through simctl and exposes it as an MJPEG video stream with a WebSocket control channel, served through a React preview UI in the browser.

The stream runs at 60 frames per second and supports gestures such as swipe-to-home and pinch-to-zoom, keyboard shortcuts, and dragging videos and images onto the simulator. Simulator logs and recent actions are forwarded to the browser for other browser-use tools to read.

It requires macOS with Xcode command line tools and an Apple Silicon Mac; the bundled helper does not run on Intel Macs. It works with any iOS Simulator and is not tied to React Native.
