Skills For Real Engineers

A set of agent skills for coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex that encode the author's day-to-day engineering practices.

Skills For Real Engineers

Skills For Real Engineers is a collection of agent skills the author uses for real engineering work rather than open-ended prompting. The skills are designed to be small, easy to adapt and composable, and are described as working with any underlying model.

The skills install in two ways: as a managed, read-only Claude Code plugin that updates automatically, or through a separate skills.sh installer that copies editable skill files directly into a project so they can be modified. Installing both leaves every skill duplicated, so the project recommends picking one approach.

After installation, a setup skill asks the user which issue tracker to use (GitHub, Linear or local files), which labels to apply when triaging tickets, and where to save any documentation the skills create.

    github.com

A deterministic authorization gateway that sits between an AI agent and its tools, tracing where each parameter of a side-effect call came from, and blocking the call or asking a human when the source does not check out.

  • A markdown framework of system rules that restates Isaac Asimov's Four Laws of Robotics as a set of prioritized loss calculations for large-language-model agents to follow, published as a discovery file for agents and crawlers to read.

  • Vitruvius

    github.com

An engineering research agent that runs a discover, read, synthesize, verify and review loop over technical questions, reading sources directly rather than inferring from titles, and publishing its own scored verifier benchmark, weaknesses included.
