Spec-Driven Develop

A Markdown-only workflow plugin for AI coding agents that turns large software changes into a spec-driven loop of project analysis, task decomposition, GitHub issue and PR tracking, and adaptive control.

Spec-Driven Develop

Spec-Driven Develop is an open-source, platform-agnostic workflow for AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Cursor, built entirely from Markdown skills and small helper scripts with no SDK or third-party runtime dependency.

It ships three complementary skills: Spec-Driven Develop itself automates a full pipeline for large, complex tasks, deep project analysis, phased task decomposition, document-driven progress tracking and execution within a single session; Deep Discuss is a structured multi-phase workflow for problem analysis, brainstorming and solution design; and Review SPD is a findings-first code review workflow for uncommitted changes, date-range commits, and branch or pull-request diffs, focused on bugs and regressions.

The design is inspired by Qian Xuesen's engineering cybernetics and targets developers using AI coding agents for migrations, rewrites, refactors, architecture changes and complex implementation plans.

  • Provenance gate

    github.com

A deterministic authorization gateway that sits between an AI agent and its tools, tracing where each parameter of a side-effect call came from, and blocking the call or asking a human when the source does not check out.

  • A markdown framework of system rules that restates Isaac Asimov's Four Laws of Robotics as a set of prioritized loss calculations for large-language-model agents to follow, published as a discovery file for agents and crawlers to read.

  • Vitruvius

    github.com

An engineering research agent that runs a discover, read, synthesize, verify and review loop over technical questions, reading sources directly rather than inferring from titles, and publishing its own scored verifier benchmark, weaknesses included.
