taskmd

A Markdown-based task management system for humans and AI coding assistants, with a CLI, a web dashboard, AI skills and an MCP server, all running locally.

taskmd

taskmd stores tasks as Markdown files with YAML frontmatter, version-controlled alongside a project's code, and provides a CLI to create, update, filter, validate and visualize them. A web dashboard adds a kanban board, dependency graphs and project metrics, viewed in the browser.

A set of AI skills gives assistants slash commands to create, update and work through tasks, and an MCP server exposes the same task-management operations as direct tools, so an AI assistant can act on tasks without going through a chat-formatted command. All task data stays in the project's own repository and is never sent elsewhere.

It installs through Homebrew, a prebuilt binary, the Go toolchain (CLI only, without the web dashboard), building from source, or Docker, which runs either the web dashboard or CLI commands against a mounted tasks directory.

    github.com

A deterministic authorization gateway that sits between an AI agent and its tools, tracing where each parameter of a side-effect call came from, and blocking the call or asking a human when the source does not check out.

  • A markdown framework of system rules that restates Isaac Asimov's Four Laws of Robotics as a set of prioritized loss calculations for large-language-model agents to follow, published as a discovery file for agents and crawlers to read.

  • Vitruvius

    github.com

An engineering research agent that runs a discover, read, synthesize, verify and review loop over technical questions, reading sources directly rather than inferring from titles, and publishing its own scored verifier benchmark, weaknesses included.
