Tel-Agent

Tel-Agent is a self-hosted, open-source gateway connecting an existing phone line to an AI agent over SIP, checking each caller against routing rules before passing the call to a person, blocking it, or handing it to an agent that can transfer calls and take messages.

Tel-Agent

Tel-Agent is an open-source gateway that sits between a phone line and an AI agent. A call arrives over SIP, Tel-Agent checks the caller against configured routing rules, and either passes it to a human, blocks it, or hands it to an AI agent that speaks with the caller in real time, can invoke tools such as transferring the call or checking a calendar, and records and transcribes every call for later search.

The same agent also answers on web chat, SMS, email, WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram, Discord and Slack, each connected with the operator's own credentials rather than a shared one. It runs on a user's own hardware and LAN with their own API keys, connects to an existing PBX such as 3CX, Asterisk or FreePBX as an extension rather than replacing it, and is explicitly not a workflow-automation platform or a CRM; those integrations are reached through webhooks and a generic HTTP tool instead.
