# Tessera.io

An open-source, real-time collaborative developer sandbox that gives human developers and AI agents a shared code editor with CRDT synchronization and secure, containerized remote code execution.

Tessera.io provides the infrastructure for a collaborative coding environment built for both human developers and AI agents to write, test and debug code together in real time. Real-time collaboration uses Yjs CRDTs over Socket.io for conflict-free state across clients, the editor is a Monaco-based, VS Code-like typing experience built with React and Tailwind CSS, and a Node.js worker executes untrusted code inside isolated, ephemeral Docker containers, optionally hardened with gVisor.

A lightweight Python FastAPI service adds an AI layer hooked into the Model Context Protocol and MongoDB Atlas Vector Search for retrieval-augmented generation. The current release is described as a foundational MVP supporting TypeScript, Python and C++ execution, built as a Turborepo monorepo over npm workspaces so contributors can work on one layer without understanding the whole stack.
