# TraceDecay

A daemon-backed local semantic code graph for AI coding agents, exposing MCP tools for symbol search, call graphs, impact analysis and repository context instead of repeated grep and file reads.

TraceDecay builds a local semantic graph of a repository so AI coding agents can query symbols, call relationships, change impact, documentation and source snippets directly, rather than repeatedly grepping and reading whole files. It exposes this through typed MCP tools for context, search, callers and impact analysis.

A Rust tree-sitter extractor builds the index, and results are stored by a local daemon in SQLite and an embedded graph store, with freshness checks tied to the exact git worktree, ref and commit. It integrates natively with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Hermes, Kiro, Kimi Code, OpenCode and Cline-family hosts, and includes a local dashboard for evidence, memory and cost analytics.

It installs via a shell script or a downloaded Windows archive, and its daemon must be running before the project can be indexed.
