Upjet

Upjet is a code-generation framework and Kubernetes controller runtime that turns any Terraform provider into a Crossplane provider, generating CRDs, reconciliation controllers and example manifests.

Upjet

Upjet generates Crossplane providers from existing Terraform providers, producing Kubernetes CRDs conformant to the Crossplane Resource Model, reconciliation controllers with full CRUD lifecycle support, and example manifests and API documentation. It supports three ways of driving the underlying Terraform provider: the traditional Terraform CLI, direct Go integration with the Terraform Plugin SDK v2, and protocol-based communication with the Terraform Plugin Framework.

It powers the official AWS, Azure and GCP Crossplane providers along with more than 50 community providers, and is best suited when a Terraform provider already exists for a target platform and broad resource coverage matters more than deeply customized reconciliation logic. Features include Kubernetes-native cross-resource reference resolution, management policies for fine-grained lifecycle control including an observe-only import mode, external name mapping, and sensitive-field handling through connection secrets.
