VeRL-Omni

VeRL-Omni is a general reinforcement-learning training framework focused on multimodal generative models. It grew out of multi-modal generation RL work inside the verl project and now has its own home so it can evolve around the compute and I/O patterns of diffusion and omni-modality training rather than text-only LLM RL.

It targets three families of models: diffusion generative models for image, video and audio; unified multimodal understanding-and-generation models; and omni-modality models that jointly handle text, image, audio and video. Supported techniques include a trainer built on a transfer queue and replay buffer, on-policy distillation, and integration with a vLLM-based multimodal rollout backend.

A continual learning language model that trains from scratch on a single 8 GB VRAM GPU, assembling its own architecture and adapting its size to the hardware and data available rather than shipping as a fixed pretrained model.

  • An open-source contrastive-embedding pipeline that maps technical CVE vulnerability descriptions to formal cybersecurity compliance controls in NIST SP 800-53 and CMMC, published with its model generation, fine-tuning and evaluation code.

A small vision-language model, fine-tuned with LoRA on a 500-million-parameter backbone, that answers typed multiple-choice, ordinal-score and yes/no questions about an image with calibrated probabilities, in about 400 milliseconds on a laptop.
