x-kit

Pure-Python tools and research notes that reimplement X.com's internal web protocol, letting scripts read tweets and timelines, search, and post using an authenticated browser session's own tokens.

x-kit

x-kit reimplements X.com's internal web-client protocol in pure Python, exposing operations such as reading a tweet's details, resolving a user's profile, collecting a user's timeline, and running a search with date-window pagination for reaching further back in history. It can also create tweets with optional media, retweet, quote-tweet, or copy the text and media of a public tweet into a new post, and it automatically attaches the client transaction header that the site's internal API requires.

Using it requires an authentication token and a ct0 value copied from an already logged-in browser session on x.com, supplied through a settings file or as runtime arguments. The project documents its own reverse-engineering notes and current GraphQL operation identifiers, and warns that these identifiers and feature flags are deployment details that change whenever the site updates its web bundle, and that write operations can trigger account-level rate limits or other risk controls.

The repository has moved from an earlier Bun and TypeScript implementation to this Python-only version as its source of truth, and keeps a set of previously collected user-timeline exports alongside it.
