# Yoke

An agentic command-line coding harness built entirely on Elixir and Erlang/OTP, originally aimed at DeepSeek models, using process isolation so a failing tool call cannot crash the whole interactive session.

Yoke separates an agent's cognitive state, called its Brain, into its own isolated GenServer process from tool execution, called its Hands, so a tool or sub-task failure is contained by OTP's supervision tree rather than crashing the interactive REPL session or losing conversation state. State snapshots recorded before each tool-execution turn provide an undo command and state branching, and tools and plugins can be hot-swapped or reloaded live without losing conversation memory or resetting process state; sub-tasks can also be delegated to child session processes that run in parallel across BEAM worker threads.

It is built primarily for DeepSeek's deepseek-chat, deepseek-coder and deepseek-reasoner models, with OpenRouter and local models also supported, and its architecture draws on José Valim's work on process-isolated AI agents alongside DeepSeek's model design, Google Antigravity, and Warp Terminal's TUI patterns.

It is written in Elixir, and the project's license is not asserted in its repository metadata.
