Aether

A local-first, general-purpose AI agent app for Android, iOS, and macOS, built on the Pi agent framework, with an extension API for adding tools, settings, and subagents to a mobile agent interface.

Aether

Aether brings a local AI agent experience to Android, iOS, and macOS, built on the Pi agent framework and described by its authors as bringing a Codex-like agent to mobile and desktop. It pairs a minimalist interface with support for loading Pi extensions, and provides an extension API that lets an extension add custom settings cards, interactive composer widgets, overlay transcript viewers, prompt interceptors, and named tool titles, so extensions originally built for terminal use can work on a touchscreen.

Official extensions add web search across more than twenty providers with GitHub repository cloning and PDF and video understanding, an MCP gateway supporting several transport types with lazy loading and OAuth authentication, and Claude Code-style autonomous subagents that run in the background with live status widgets and an overlay for reviewing their work.

It is written in Kotlin under the GPL-3.0 license.
