Aider

Aider is a terminal-based AI pair programmer that edits an existing codebase or starts a new project, working with cloud models such as Claude and GPT-4 or local LLMs.

Aider

It builds a map of the whole repository so it stays useful in larger projects, and works across more than a hundred programming languages. It integrates with git, committing its own changes with a generated message so familiar git tools can diff, manage or undo an AI edit; it can also be driven from inside an existing editor by adding a comment to code and asking Aider to act on it.

Images and web pages can be added to the chat as visual or reference context, and Aider lints and tests code automatically after each change, trying to fix what it finds. It also supports voice-to-code requests, and can be used purely by copy-pasting context to and from a browser-based chat interface when no direct API connection is set up.

Python, Apache-2.0.
