Apache Maka (Incubating)

An Apache incubator project for a high-performance agent workspace that records every action it takes as an append-only event log, so the log itself drives its UI, prompts and crash recovery.

Apache Maka (Incubating)

Maka is benchmarked against other agent harnesses on the same model and the same official verifier, and publishes per-task results with every report rather than only summary claims. Every model message, tool call, permission decision and termination is recorded as an append-only RuntimeEvent, and the UI, the next prompt and crash recovery are all projections of that log rather than separate copies of the state.

Sessions, settings and run records stay on the user's machine, and a model is brought by the user: a cloud API, a local model, or a compatible gateway. Desktop, a TUI and CLI, and an Eval tool are described as thin clients of one Runtime Host, with Eval owning only the experiment and its scores.

It is written in TypeScript, builds with Node.js 22.19 or newer and npm (Peer and Peer Mesh development also need Rust 1.98 or newer), and has not yet made an official Apache release as of this material.
