Appwrite

An open-source backend platform providing authentication, databases, storage, serverless functions, messaging and hosting, with a built-in MCP server for coding agents.

Appwrite

Appwrite is an open-source backend platform for building and scaling web, mobile and AI applications, offered as a managed cloud service or for self-hosting on infrastructure the user controls. Its products include Auth for authenticating users through email, SMS, OAuth, anonymous sessions and magic links; Databases for modeling and querying data or connecting to managed PostgreSQL and MySQL; Storage with compression, encryption, image transformations and access control; Functions for deploying serverless code in isolated runtimes; Sites for deploying static, server-rendered and client-rendered frontends from Git; and Messaging and Realtime for notifications and live events.

Appwrite includes a hosted MCP server so coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code and Codex can operate directly on a live Appwrite project, in addition to client and server SDKs for integrating Appwrite into an application.
