AShell

A cross-platform desktop terminal and SSH client that combines local shells, remote SSH, SFTP file management, host monitoring and port forwarding with an optional AI assistant that runs on the user's own machine.

AShell

AShell is a desktop application for macOS, Windows and Linux that brings together a local terminal (ConPTY on Windows, forkpty on Unix), remote SSH and Telnet sessions, serial connections, SFTP file management with an in-app code editor, live host resource monitoring, and local, remote and dynamic SSH port forwarding, all in one tabbed interface with drag-to-reorder tabs and session broadcasting across multiple terminals.

Host credentials are stored locally with AES-256-GCM encryption and are never sent through an API. An AI assistant, built on a shared sidecar that embeds the Claude Agent SDK and a second coding-agent engine, can read terminal selections or SFTP context, execute remote commands after confirmation, and asks for explicit approval before destructive operations; its model, API key and base URL are configurable.

A Docker-deployable web server mode exposes the same terminal, SFTP and AI assistant features through a browser instead of the desktop app.
