Askimo

A native desktop application for chatting with multiple AI providers, such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok or a local Ollama model, searching local files and the web, running scripts, and delegating tasks to agent CLIs from one app.

Askimo

Askimo is a desktop chat client that switches between providers without copy-pasting between browser tabs, and keeps files, RAG indexes, conversation history, and usage and cost tracking on the local machine; the only network calls it makes are to the AI provider a person configures.

Beyond chat, it delegates work to autonomous agent CLIs such as Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity, chains multi-step AI plans from a form-based UI, and connects to MCP tools. Skills can be defined independently of any one agent and then run with whichever agent CLI fits the task.

It also offers local or offline speech-to-text and text-to-speech, so messages can be dictated and responses read back. It is written in Kotlin and runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.
