auto_backup

An Odoo module that automates database backups to local storage or a remote FTP server, with versions maintained for each supported Odoo release.

auto_backup

auto_backup is an Odoo module that schedules automated backups of an Odoo database, storing them locally or pushing them to a remote FTP server. It requires the Python pysftp library to be installed, and different module versions are tested against specific Odoo releases from 8.0 through 16.0, with a master branch tracking the next Odoo version still in development.

The documentation covers operational details such as raising the limit_time_real parameter when Odoo runs with workers, so large backups do not hit a worker timeout, and notes that since a 2020 change the module can take backups without the database manager being exposed, which the author recommends disabling for security. For Odoo versions 12 through 14, the module also requires the base and web values to be set for the --load or server_wide_modules parameter.
