awesome-ai is a curated collection of AI tools, generated from YAML data files into a single README table. Entries are grouped under headings such as Chatbot, CodeAssistant, Develop Tool, Local, Other, Search, Search Engine and Text to Image, and list a tool's name and its creator where known; many entries are Chinese-market products such as TongYi, ERNIE Bot and Tongyi Lingma alongside international tools like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot.
Because the README itself is generated from a template, the project's contribution model is to add a YAML file under the data directory rather than edit the Markdown directly. Coverage spans consumer chat assistants, coding assistants, image generation tools and AI-focused search engines, with no further description, screenshots or evaluation of individual entries beyond the tool name and creator.
It functions as a link index rather than a tool itself.
