Awesome Auto Research

A curated list of open-source tools that automate scientific research, spanning literature review, idea generation, experiment execution, paper writing and peer review.

Awesome Auto Research

Awesome Auto Research collects open-source projects that automate parts of the research loop, organized into autonomous research systems, deep research and literature synthesis, research implementation and experimentation, academic writing and communication, and research skills and plugin collections, plus a section of related awesome lists and surveys.

Listed autonomous systems range from a minimal single-GPU research harness in which an external coding agent repeatedly edits a training script under fixed instructions, to more complete systems that automate idea generation, coding, experiments and manuscript writing, quantitative research and development processes such as factor and model evolution, and agent-driven pipelines that go from literature retrieval through sandboxed experiments, multi-agent peer review and a finished paper.

Each entry notes the frameworks and tools it is built on and which LLM APIs it supports. The list itself is released under the CC0-1.0 license.
