Awesome CLI Coding Agents

A curated list of more than 130 terminal-native AI coding agents and the harnesses that orchestrate, sandbox, or extend them, covering open-source, platform, and closed-source tools.

Awesome CLI Coding Agents

Awesome CLI Coding Agents is a curated list of terminal-native AI coding agents, tools that run in a terminal and can autonomously read, write, and execute code in a repository, along with the harnesses that orchestrate, sandbox, or extend them. It distinguishes these from chat-based assistants by their direct access to the filesystem, shell, and development tools.

The list is organized into terminal-native coding agents, split into open source, an OpenClaw ecosystem section, and closed source; and harnesses and orchestration, split into session managers and parallel runners, orchestrators and autonomous loops, and agent infrastructure. Open-source entries are ranked by GitHub popularity and tagged with their backing company where relevant, with a short description of each project's approach, such as its provider support, license, or architecture.

The list notes a last-updated date and accepts contributions.
