BPMN Assistant
An open-source assistant that turns a plain-language description of a business process into an editable BPMN diagram, refined through conversation and exported as a .bpmn file.
BPMN Assistant generates BPMN diagrams, including tasks, gateways, events, pools, lanes and message flows, from a plain-language description of a business process, then lets you refine the diagram through further conversation, such as adding an approval step or a new participant.
It can also import an existing BPMN file or a diagram image to create or modify a process, answer questions about how an existing process works, and export the result as an editable .bpmn file after adjustment in a visual editor. It runs as a hosted app or locally with Docker, and needs an OpenAI or Anthropic API key either way; the hosted interface keeps the key in the browser's session storage and sends process content to the selected model provider.
It is written in Python and is MIT licensed.
