Brave Search MCP Server

An MCP server that gives an AI client access to Brave Search, including web, local business, place, image, video and news search, plus AI-generated summarization.

Brave Search MCP Server

Brave Search MCP Server integrates the Brave Search API into any MCP client. Its brave_web_search tool performs web searches with filtering options such as country, language, freshness, safe search and custom re-ranking goggles, and it also exposes local business, place, image, video and news search, LLM-oriented context, and AI-powered summarization.

It supports both STDIO and HTTP transports, with STDIO as the default since version 2.0, and version 2.x changed image search to return a response closer to Brave's own API shape instead of embedding base64 image data, reducing response size and context use. It is written in TypeScript under the MIT license.
