burrow

A free, open-source native Mac system-maintenance app for junk cleanup, app uninstalling, duplicate finding, and disk analysis, with a built-in MCP server so AI agents can query and clean the system with consent.

burrow

Burrow puts junk cleanup, developer-artifact purging, app uninstalling with leftover removal, duplicate finding, safe maintenance, disk maps, and live system status into one free, native Mac app, powered by a single bundled engine binary whose command surface is modeled on the Mole CLI by a different author, though Burrow is an independent project not affiliated with or endorsed by that app.

It keeps months of local metric history and runs a built-in MCP server so AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor can watch, query, and maintain a Mac; actions are consent-gated and audited, Trash-based removals stay recoverable until the Trash is emptied, and permanent deletion needs separate consent. If an agent notices something wrong, such as low disk space, while doing other work, it can diagnose and clean it up proactively without being asked.

It installs through Homebrew on macOS, with a Windows TypeScript rewrite available as a preview under a separate folder in the repository.
