Cairn.ink Memory

A lightweight cross-session memory system for AI agents where every stored memory carries a receipt to its exact source text, so it can be corrected or forgotten.

Cairn.ink Memory

Cairn.ink Memory keeps a receipt with every memory it stores: the exact source text it was learned from. A user can inspect that receipt, correct the memory at that revision, or forget it, and a forgotten memory stays forgotten even if a later capture would otherwise re-admit it. Memories are stored in a local SQLite file and the open-source local layer needs no account.

A thin MCP server and a JavaScript API share one core, exposing five explicit memory operations for remembering, inspecting, correcting, forgetting and recalling, rather than capturing a transcript automatically. Model-free operations need no API key; semantic recall needs a user-supplied OpenAI key.

A separate hosted service at cairn.ink offers a Claude Code plugin for automatic memory capture from allowlisted conversation text, using a personal access token the user creates themselves. The project describes its status as a developer preview, with known extraction-quality limitations documented alongside a frozen evaluation.
