Carbon Code

A Claude Code-style terminal coding agent built on DeepSeek, aimed at cutting token cost by more than 90 percent while automatically splitting tasks, developing code and running MCP tests, and interoperating with Claude and Codex.

Carbon Code

Carbon Code is a terminal coding agent that reads and searches a project's code, proposes changes shown as a diff, asks for confirmation before running a shell command, and runs tests when needed, leaving a short record of each session. It defaults to DeepSeek's V4 API, automatically starting from the cheaper Flash model and upgrading to Pro for harder turns within a session, and can also connect to any standard OpenAI-compatible provider by URL and key from its desktop settings.

Project conventions are read from an AGENTS.md or CARBON.md file in the repository, and it can collaborate with other agents such as Claude and Codex. By default it collects and uploads sanitized error and crash metadata to help diagnose release issues, never conversation content, file contents, full command arguments or credentials, and this can be turned off in settings or through an environment variable. Node.js 22+, MIT licensed.
