Claude Code + Obsidian + Graphify

This is a setup guide combining an Obsidian vault as Claude Code's persistent, Zettelkasten-style memory across sessions with a companion tool, Graphify, that maps a codebase into a knowledge graph, so Claude Code stops re-reading its files every session.

Claude Code + Obsidian + Graphify

This project documents a complete setup that turns Claude Code into an agent with long-term memory and codebase awareness without wasting tokens re-reading files each session. It addresses two problems: Claude Code forgetting everything about a project between sessions, and Claude Code re-reading a project's files from scratch every time to reorient itself, which the author estimates can burn tens of thousands of tokens a day across several sessions.

A single, centralized Obsidian vault organized as a Zettelkasten acts as project memory, storing decisions, context and progress that Claude Code reads through CLAUDE.md and custom skills; a separate tool called Graphify maps how the codebase is structured so files do not need to be re-read to be understood; and an import pipeline brings insights from past chat transcripts into the vault, with resume and save commands for picking up where a session left off.
