claude-devtools
A free, open-source debugging tool for Claude Code that reads its local session logs and reconstructs file reads, tool calls, subagent activity, thinking content and context-window usage in a visual interface.
claude-devtools is a debugging tool for Claude Code that reads the session transcripts and logs Claude Code already saves locally, then reconstructs details that the terminal's collapsed summaries hide. Where the terminal shows a line such as 'Read 3 files', it shows the exact file paths and syntax-highlighted content; where it shows 'Edited 2 files', it shows inline diffs.
It also exposes per-turn token attribution across several categories with compaction visualization, full execution trees for spawned subagents with their own tool traces and cost, the model's extended thinking content, and a rendered, clickable view of a project's saved memory files. It requires no configuration, API keys or wrappers, reading only the data already present under a user's local Claude Code directory.
It is an Electron desktop application written in TypeScript.
