claude-mem-lite

A lightweight persistent-memory system for Claude Code that captures coding decisions and bug fixes across sessions through an MCP server and hooks, using full-text search instead of a vector database.

claude-mem-lite

claude-mem-lite is a persistent memory system for Claude Code, Anthropic's terminal coding agent. It runs as an MCP server together with a set of Claude Code hooks that automatically capture coding observations, decisions and bug fixes during a session, batching several tool-use events into one summarization call rather than calling a model on every tool use, and later provides full-text search with query expansion to recall them.

It is a ground-up rewrite of the original claude-mem project, replacing its long-running worker process, vector database and multiple runtime dependencies with an on-demand Node.js process and a single SQLite database, which the project reports cuts the number of model calls per session by roughly seven to ten times. It has no external services and stores its data in a single hidden directory.
