Claudian

Claudian is an Obsidian plugin that embeds AI coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Grok, OpenCode and Pi, directly inside a vault, with the vault itself as the agent's working directory. File reading and writing, search, shell access and multi-step workflows all work without extra setup.

A chat sidebar lets a user talk to the agent, and selected text can be edited inline with a word-level diff preview. Slash or dollar-sign commands trigger reusable prompt templates or Skills scoped to the user or the vault, an @ mention references vault files and folders directly, and a side chat opens a separate, temporary conversation without disturbing the main one. External tools connect through each coding agent's own MCP configuration, and multiple sessions can run in tabs or a persistent session manager.

It requires at least one supported agent CLI, a compatible subscription or API provider, and runs on the desktop versions of Obsidian 1.13 or newer. It is written in TypeScript and released under the MIT license.
