code-graph-mcp
An MCP server that indexes a codebase into an AST knowledge graph across ten languages via Tree-sitter, giving AI coding assistants semantic search, call-graph traversal, HTTP route tracing and change-impact analysis.
code-graph-mcp is a Model Context Protocol server that parses a codebase with Tree-sitter into a structured AST knowledge graph, so an AI coding assistant can query it instead of scanning files directly. Full support, meaning calls, imports and inheritance, covers TypeScript, JavaScript, Go, Python, Rust and Java, with lighter tiers of extraction for C#, Kotlin, Ruby, PHP, Swift, Dart, C, C++, Bash, Markdown, HTML, CSS and JSON.
It provides hybrid BM25 full-text and vector semantic search with reciprocal rank fusion, recursive call-graph traversal with cycle detection, HTTP route tracing that maps paths to backend handlers for Express, Flask, FastAPI, Go's net/http and Rust's axum, dead-code detection that classifies unreferenced symbols, and impact analysis that traces the blast radius of a change. Incremental indexing uses a Merkle tree with a file-system watcher, skipping metadata-only changes such as permission or extended-attribute updates.
