CodeAuto
A Java-based AI coding agent runtime offering a command-line tool, a full-screen terminal UI and a single-process web workbench, tracking and letting a developer undo code changes, tool calls, session branches and git state.
CodeAuto runs natively on Java 21 and Maven, with its web frontend hosted directly by the Java service, so no separate Node or Vite process is required. Its agent loop supports streaming model replies, tool calls, context compression, cancellation and retry, alongside engineering controls such as permission approval, a unified diff preview, git checkpoints, undo, and Git worktree management for isolating changes.
Beyond the plain CLI and full-screen terminal UI, a web workbench adds session history, Markdown-rendered conversation, evaluation charts and a file-change preview. Context-handling features include persisted sessions, project-level instructions, skills, MCP tool integration, a reflexion self-reflection step, and an experience memory the project calls ACE Bullet; tools for files, shell commands, network access, todos, memory, background tasks and git are all wired through one unified registration mechanism.
Once bin is added to PATH, running codeauto --web from any project directory uses that directory as the workspace automatically, and a released build also supports choosing the workspace folder through a system file picker.
