codebase-memory-mcp

codebase-memory-mcp is a native MCP server that indexes a codebase into a persistent knowledge graph in milliseconds, giving a coding agent structural queries instead of repeated grep and file-read cycles.

codebase-memory-mcp

It parses source with tree-sitter across 162 languages, enhanced by hybrid language-server-based type resolution for languages such as Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, PHP, C#, Go, C, C++, Java, Kotlin, Rust and Perl, producing a graph of functions, classes, call chains, HTTP routes and cross-service links, plus infrastructure-as-code nodes for Dockerfiles and Kubernetes manifests. It exposes seventeen MCP tools and a built-in 3D graph visualization served from the binary itself.

It ships as a single native executable needing no language runtime, hosted service or API key, with an install step that auto-configures each detected client among 45 supported client surfaces; all processing happens locally. The design and benchmarks are described in an arXiv preprint reporting substantially fewer tokens and tool calls than file-by-file exploration across a set of real repositories.
