CodeHelm

A tool that lets you start, resume, approve, interrupt, and monitor a local Codex coding session from a Discord thread on your phone or browser.

CodeHelm

CodeHelm runs a local daemon that manages a local Codex App Server and turns a Discord channel into a control surface for Codex sessions, so approving actions, resuming a long-running session, or following its progress no longer requires being at the terminal. Each managed Discord thread stays attached to one Codex session, so you can leave and come back later without losing context.

The workflow is to start the local daemon, connect Codex to the address it prints, choose a working directory and start or resume a session from Discord slash commands, then send follow-up messages, approve requests, inspect status, interrupt a running turn, and read the final answer, all inside the managed Discord thread. It installs via npm or Bun and requires Bun, Codex, and a configured Discord bot with the message content intent enabled and public threads allowed in the control channel.
