CodeSeek
A Rust-powered code-intelligence command-line tool for AI coding agents, building call graphs and hybrid semantic search indexes across seven languages, and exposing the results as native MCP tools for Claude Code and Codex.
CodeSeek is a code-intelligence CLI tool that combines AST-based call-graph analysis with hybrid semantic search, run directly from a terminal or through Claude Code and Codex as installed MCP tools. Its index combines dense vector search, sparse keyword search and reciprocal rank fusion with a reranker, covering seven programming languages.
Commands include building or incrementally updating an MD5-aware index, searching by symbol name with a fallback from vector to graph matching, finding a function's callers or callees, and querying the call graph to a configurable depth in either direction; all query commands support a machine-readable JSON output. An interactive first-run wizard configures the embedding provider, and the tool can install and remove itself as an MCP integration and as git hooks that refresh the index after a commit or merge.
It installs through npm, Homebrew or from source, pairing a lightweight JavaScript wrapper with a native Rust binary for macOS and Linux.
