Codex Relay

A local-first mobile companion for the Codex CLI that runs a relay server on your own computer and pairs with a phone app, so you can follow, steer, and approve a Codex session remotely while the work stays local.

Codex Relay

Codex Relay is a mobile companion for the Codex command-line agent. It runs a relay server in a local workspace that pairs with a mobile app over the user's own network, letting them follow or steer an active Codex session, send prompts, continue threads, and respond when the agent needs input, from a phone.

The mobile app can review active threads, queued inputs, and pending approvals, preview git changes, local web output, files, and terminal output, and separately configure push notifications for a turn completing versus an action needing approval. All session data, including code, shell access, and git state, stays on the local computer that runs the relay; the phone only talks to that relay.

It can also share a single Codex session between the mobile app and a terminal-based text interface at the same time, by starting the relay in a shared app-server mode. It is an independent project, not affiliated with OpenAI, and is written in TypeScript.
