Codex Router

A router and control center that lets the Codex CLI and desktop app, along with Claude Code, Cursor, and Gemini CLI, call external model providers such as Kimi, DeepSeek, and xAI instead of only their default backend.

Codex Router

Codex Router installs a guided setup for connecting external model providers, including Kimi over OAuth or API key and DeepSeek, to the Codex app and CLI, keeping provider credentials on the user's own machine. Alongside the router it installs an Electron Control Center, a menu-bar or tray app, and on macOS a movable desktop widget.

Once installed, a user restarts Codex, starts a new task, and chooses a routed model from the Control Center; the same local installation can also serve other coding tools such as Gemini CLI and Cursor. It also detects and can bridge a small number of other client-owned subscription agents.

It is written in JavaScript and released under the MIT license.
